Perfect motivation to get my CB mounted. I like a roof mounted radio, it's an old truck driver thing.. Since drilling into the roof would be bad, I came up with this solution. Give the inside of the roof a little scuff I took a piece of 1/2 thick x 3 x 24 poplar and cut in half. I used a table mounted belt sander and radiused the board for a good fit (it matches the underside of the roof's ribs final depth) Then I bonded the boards to the bottom side of the roof, using the load bar from my pickup to hold things together while it dries. The end result will give me a mounting point that is hidden behind the headliner.
