I think i found one, but now as I have moved, parking is an issue, so I must think of a perfect solution. But it is my 1st priority as my van fund gets better daily...I am leaning towards a 4.3 as it will be a parts delivery van. But yours looks sweet now man for sure. Hope you get a new powerplant in there soon. Have you considered an Astro? They are cheap, plentiful and dead nuts reliable. Your in WH right? Now im in Palm beach. and I have thought of an astro...But i think imgoing to wait until an early floats my way. its small, i can deliver parts in in it, its cool, i can live in it if i have to

What oil filter do you run? Some brands are poorly made and lead to oil starvation due to collapsed and failed parts in the filter. Truthfully, as long as it makes it to Illinois i could care if the damn thing explodes. I plan to completely rebuild/modify the motor once i make it there. The less mechanical damage to the motor, the cheaper and easier it is to rebuild it. If you decide to keep the slant six, the best things you can do to make the slant six into an excellent truck motor are (1) 2 1/4 inch exhaust all the way back; (2) take the time to measure the head and cylinder chamber and mill the head enough to get a DYNAMIC compression ratio around 8 (there is a big difference between dynamic and static compression ratios); (3) convert to HEI ignition and fine tune the timing advance curve; (4) run synthetic oil of 5W-30 or even lighter; (5) keep the bands and kickdown adjusted right if you have an automatic transmission.
