usually a wrench will get them with a slight offset..a ratchet may need more clearance... usually between 7/16 and 9/16 in size

There are 4 bolts. They can be anywhere from 1/2" to 11/16" depending on a number of things. Actually, forgot you were talking about the newer trans, they may actually be metric. It's best like Doc said to bring a whole set of wrenches. You most likely may be able to get them out with a socket. Bring a large screwdriver or pry bar as well to use to hold the flywheel from turning as you crack them loose and also to turn the flywheel to get to each bolt.

******ITS OUT!!****

Thanks again to everyone who posted, gearbox now sitting back home in the garage - AT LAST!. Bit of servicing to do filter etc , whilst thre got prop, all the switches connected to the transmission, dipstick, crossmember, 1 x oil cooler pipe (other broken) , shift linkage and switch from dash that engages overdrive. And so the project to put this in my Dodge B200 Van commences. Will keep a record of this and hopefully post a how to when I'm done.

Mark

Hi Doc and Alikazam,
Thanks for the info re the seals wouldn't want to get it in then find I had a leak. Another thing I have to look at is whilst I was underneath the guy who was selling the box said he'd remove the dipstick tube but he ended up snapping it! Found out he was using a crowbar as he thought it was pushed in so will have to see what I can sort out.
