But then things should get better... lots of big companies sitting the sidelines w/ tons of cash. Small business hires 60% of work population. If small business tax break comes that should help. Sharpen your skills. Keep pursuing!
Keep networking for jobs (that's your best bet).

Also read interesting article in fortune mag. about www.linkedin.com for hiring folks. Jobs are for uppers and lower salaries. They mention home depot uses it to hire. the benefit is what the company saves in their search for qualified help that has made this a hot site. May be worth looking at if you are looking...

I'm in real estate....the good news: I'm self employed so I can't get fired.....The bad news: I'm in real estate in the worst economy since the great depression and I believe housing is the backbone of the Country and so many jobs rely on housing that until that gets straightened out I don't see the economy changing much. We have VERY depressed housing prices AND historially low interest rates but people are still not buying because they are afraid of having a job in the near future. We have been in a "down" real estate market for the past 3 years and I personally don't see it changing for the next 3-5 years. I hope it does....but I'm just not sure!

You can tell when they are lying......their lips are moving! rolleyes Big business has the news media in their back pocket. They tell us that things are getting better just to brainwash us into thinking that it is true. This recession has been coming for 40 years or more. It started slowly with the importing of cheaper products. When big business realized that cheaper labor and cheaper materials meant bigger profits they stampeded elsewhere. Look around and you see empty factories and mills everywhere. And they are still leaving the USA. All that will be left here are burger joints and Walmarts. It's very sad to witness the whole process. Pittsburg, Youngstown, Detroit are just empty shells of what they once were. Wake up people, before its too late. Personally, I think that it is too late. Buy American! (Just my 2 cents!)

guess ill finally join.
got let go from army in 08.
been taking it easy since then.
started to do stuff this year and got a temp job at Pioneer.
even though that place was retarded to high hell i went to the extent of putting in a full time app.
interview whole 9 yards... didnt get it. sucks. besides being retarded i knew more than half the people there and they were cool as hell.

Then did brick laying job. that worked out well for 2 months till they decided to sell the building.

now im jobless agian and looking for work.

Sad part is im seriously thinking of getting the van running gear running smoothly then moving somewhere with what money i have and start fresh.
i need a change and a new job.
ugh!
