It amazes me what you guys can do. No, no bucket sitting for me. Still tons to do. With all the damned sealer in those joints it's a long process. | | | Re: 84 Dodge......Transformation | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 28,125 Madman! | Madman! Finally ground down the welds in the slider door jamb where I had to fabricate the jamb to fill the huge hole left by removing the slider. I think it came out nice, even if I do say so myself Next up, I decided to tackle the rear corners. Although I did mine somewhat different than the way Joe did his, it was still a lot of fitting, hammering, welding, grinding, etc. I began , by cleaning up the door frame welds with the grinder, trimming the pink weld off the portion of the top where the corner will fit back in place and started to weld up a portion of the remaining pinch weld where the body will be smoothed out. With both rear corners prepped moved on to start the corner filling, I started by cleaning up all the edges. Missing a few steps as I needed 2 hands and my teeth to hold the panel in place and mark things, I wasn't able to hold the camera also. While holding the panel in place I marked off where some metal would need to be added and made up some filler metal and tacked it in place. Then some welding, slicing, hammering, bending, grinding, etc. The top corner was the trickiest to get all the panels rolled together without any buckling was a lot of fun, but came out nicely I think! How can you not love this look? | | | Re: 84 Dodge......Transformation | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 5,265 pooh-bah | pooh-bah Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 5,265 | | | | Re: 84 Dodge......Transformation | Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 1,719 veteran | veteran Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 1,719 |
