I know how nasty it can be, I was close to losing my left foot after 04

Hopefully we will have eyewitness account of the park and access roads soon by someone from Performance

Hey all. Just got the call from Dimps who is at the grounds now. Biggest problem so far is that there may have been some water seepage into the the well water. It will be safe to shower with, just don't drink it. With that said, we will be having extra water for sale, and you might want to bring some extra for yourselves for morning coffee and such. So pass the word, BRING BOTTLED WATER! We have a power washer onsite, as well as bleach and scrub brushes so we can get the lower showers and bathrooms cleaned up and in shape.

I think we probably have something like 12-15 guys up there now and more coming tomorrow, so cleanup won't be a problem. I heard that 183 is closed around Blue Marsh lake, but that will likely open up in the next day or two.

Everything else is a go, and with the way the weather report looks, starting Sunday, and for the rest of the week, we will have nothing but blue skies and sunshine. And I'm not an expert on the shelf life of mud, but I would think that come Wednesday the lower areas that got the most of the water will probably still be somewhat soft, but not muddy. Even so, if it is still muddy, maybe we can talk the ladies into entertaining us with some wrestling smile

Double feature movie nights start on Sunday - See you there!

Thanks for the info Rich. Also got it over on Facebook courtesy of Doc. Good info. Also thanks for the info on the water. Not worth taking a risk. Just make sure the guys take care while cleaning up. I would volunteer my own services but have my own cleaning to do. The plan is to be there on Wednesday barring any complications. Hoping to have things back in somewhat order by then. Will be pressure washing and sterilizing everything. Ripping out drywall. Possibly two new doors. But do not know until we get there. Hopefully tomorrow sometime.

Oh and Ken, I had no choice in those pictures. The water just broke through and was over a foot deep in minutes. We had just finished moving some tables up when it broke.

Just some other tips :

Remember Flood waters bring manure, sewage and farm chemicals to the surface . I got a Staph infection at Keystone 04 that almost cost me my left foot, and a local firefighter there died from flood waters entering an open wound..

So keep band aids and anti bacterial goop on ALL open cuts..... Wear shoes ! As far as children and pets goes, watch what they put in their mouths as it IS contaminated. Even showering can be bad on open wounds if the well is contaminated..So use lots of anti=bacterial soap.

Also put ground sheets down under anything you plan to put back in your van so you don't transfer contaminants to your floor or bed in the van...... Be safe !!!!

I remember how bad it was the last time the floods come through there. You could see how black the water was and could smell all the manure in the water.
Maybe Loonie Toon should think about relocating for this run. I still plan on being there early so I guess I'll make the call when I get there.
Thanks for the updates and good tips.
