Thanks, lostinthe70eees!!
Well it’s been a while! I have had my van at home for a couple months now. I still had the stalling and hard starting problem, so I spent a good amount of time tracking that down.
When the body shop put on the rollpan they told me there was yellow writing on the tank and it said B200 1987. Now I know the tank is not original so I decided to check all connections. With this tank the sending unit is on top. So I carefully measured and cut an opening in the floor just enough to expose the unit.(I am going to hinge the piece to make a access door)well low and behold I think I see the problem. The metal feed line is not in the channel and the rubber line was pinched. I went to pull it and put it back in the channel, but I couldn't. The rubber line was pinched tightly between the tank and floor. So I bent the floor up and put it free, replaced with new and repositioned the hose.
I took it for several test drives so far and no stalling. Even had more power opening up the secondaries. No bog or lag!! The 5/16 hose was pinched 2/3 closed, so I guess when the gas got warm the tank expanded and closed the rest off.
Well a few more test drives until I feel confident to drive it on a regular basis.
So now that's done, I installed a NOS wiring engine harness, NOS front end wiring harness, and a NOS Battery cable assembly!
I feel better with them new. The ones in there where very brittle and had been repaired before!!
OK if everything goes as planned I will be laying the floor and designing the interior soon.
