Hey guys and gals, I'm vanning.com newest member and I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lee but I go by FroOch since childhood if you're curious about the screen name. I am 25 years old and am going to make an attempt at bringing back the "truly custom" van.

My fascination for the van started with as early as the A-Team and continued on to the Holden used in the new Scooby Doo movie. Today I purchased from Ebay a 1982 Chevy Shorty with 78,000 original miles, almost no body damage and bone "utility" stock. It has been a dream of mine since I was a kid to have a worked over van to tour the country in and maybe now it can all come to fruition.

Just a quick Hello everyone and I look forward to becoming a member in the Vanning community.

Ooops, I'm born and Raised in New Jersey, the land of the free and the home of the Guido... lol. I don't know if my Van is worthy of cruising just yet but hopefully soon. My daily driver, a VW, is also a passion and also a work in progress so the van work will be minimal at first until my daily is up to par.

Currently I am a member of Dirty Jersey Dubs and NJ VW club and don't know if any clubs take cross members but I would surely enjoy being part of the scene. Some pics to show you everyone what i'm working with.

Welcome to the vannin family! Vanning is a lifestyle that has few demands or requirements. All you need is a van. Period. They're a blank canvas that you create what YOU like. There are a number of clubs in N.J. How about it N.J. vanners? Let's set him up with some info! Take care and...Keep On Vannin'!

Welcome aboard! There are quite a few clubs in NJ. If you tell me which area you're located in, I can tell you what clubs are near you. If you say NJ is the home of the guido, I'm guessing you are somewhere in North Jersey. Narrow down the area and I'll be more specific with the clubs! I belong to Runnin Wild Truckers from Central Jersey - mostly in the North Brunswick area. We've been around for over 21 years so far and it doesn't look like we'll be stopping anytime soon! Hope you can come to a run to meet some very interesting and friendly people sometime soon.

You hit the nail on the head... I am in North Jersey. I'm in Morris Cty and also stay in Essex Cty. My VW car meets are in New Brunswick so I'm somewhat familiar with that area also.

Just what I wanted for Mayday! A new vanner with alot of enthusiasim (sp ?)!!!! Lee, you are not going to believe what some of these Vanners have done to their VANS. When we say "custom", it is different for everyone. Your VAN is an extension of yourself and the selves I know that love their VANS are an awesome group and very creative!

Go to an eVANt--meet the people--see the VANS!

Welcome to Vanning! And Chevys!

I'm thinking hotrodded van with a retro party style inside. Some shag, a curtain, cushy seating and kick arse stereo system. 2% here I come.
