It looks great, but I would have to go one more 70's step further, and wrap it all in plastic coverings. Remember that!!! Nothing like having you body stick, but the white will stay white a lot longer!!! Great job!!!

It's a great way of keeping the exterior feel on the interior. For a first timer the upholstery work looks pretty dam good. My family has been in the upholstery business for generations and I realize how tough it is to: #1. Use vinyl #2. Use White vinyl.. (it's like painting a car with black paint, it shows every imperfection.) #3. Keeping the vinyl "white" AS your working on it. #4. You even used "welting". The cord trim on the edge of the seat cushions and on the captains chairs. That can be interesting making the trim and then sewing on the covers. If you used a fabric that had more going on, it would've been easier because it helps hide imperfections...... but I commend you on using the white, it does compliment the gold on the floor, which then ties into the exterior, which looks great!

Thanks man! I've made a lot of mistakes a long the way but am proud of the results so far. I actually find it easier to do seems with piping compared to a french seem or something. The white is really hard to keep clean but I like it. | | | Re: GoldieBoxx Gets an Interior | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 12,847 Maniac | Maniac Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 12,847 | beautiful work to an already awesome van.... know where i can get a chin spoiler like yours by any chance.... I'd be afraid of destroying white but it looks great in there. | | | Re: GoldieBoxx Gets an Interior | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 3,601 Likes: 10 pooh-bah | pooh-bah Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 3,601 Likes: 10 | I would love to do something like that, what's the legal standing on such seating in vans, I mean, I want to do something where I can sleep, yet occasionally have a passenger, without that fold down crap? | | |
