Sooooo, I dont think the look would be right with the ladder and the louvers. Also, these doors had a spare tire carrier, but as you can see, it is long gone. I think I am going to pull ladder once the louvers arrive. I also seem to think it is just a rust magnet anyways. | | | Re: My FREE '87 Econo I drove 350 miles home (57 Pics) | Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 12,107 Likes: 37 Maniac | Maniac Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 12,107 Likes: 37 | Looks good. I like ladders and roof rack and spare tire carriers. If you do any camping or long trips it is nice to have some kind of cargo carrier on the roof to reduce interior clutter. Spare tire holders also reduce interior clutter and a makes getting at that roof carrier much easier. However, to each their own! Are you going to put the sliding door track cover back on?
Too bad you aren't closer. I have a set of slotted mag wheels I would give you.

I had one on the back of my van when I first got it. Totally useless as there is a fiberglass roof So I removed it. But if you like the look (something shiny) feel free to leave it on.

Maxi-mize the interior space!

I dont want a luggage rack on top of my van. I decided I am going to put a receiver on the back, and I am going to build a cargo carrier for luggage, etc.. If we hauled a cooler, it can sit inside on the bed (once its built). The spare tire can either be stored under the bed, or I am going to fab up a holder under the van where the rear tank is. Thats the great thing about vans, the possibility's are endless! The sliding door is going to be gull winged in about three weeks. I have the cover off because I am trying to figure out how to shape it to match the door (to fill in the hole from the track). I think I am going to find a donor and cut the piece out from the drivers side of an Econo. My welder is going to be here Thursday. The floor pans should be here by the end of the week as well (*checks tracking info - Oh! It looks like the pans will be here tomorrow!). I have pics I have to upload and post. I got the new hood and gill on from the donor. The grill is chrome and not painted like the old one I had. | | | Re: My FREE '87 Econo I drove 350 miles home (57 Pics) | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,020 old hand | OP old hand Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,020 | | | |
