Now show us the rest of the freakin`van | | | Re: Would you consider this a "Barn find"? 65 Chevy | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 774 old hand | OP old hand Joined: May 2001 Posts: 774 | Ok, Sorry got in late last night so didn't have a whole of of time to post much. We originally came across this van in a Craigslist add back in Nov of last year. It was about 5 hours North of us and with bad weather we never made it up there. Decided, since I would be up at my sons thsi weekend who lives only about 1-1/2 hours from the van, to give the guy a call and see if he still had it. The pic above and in this post are from Saturday when we went to look at it. It is a 65 Chevy but with the 64 front end. Straight 6 which they say is seized up, tranny is out, they were going to put a power glide in, originally had a stick. It has been chopped, all metal work on the flares, gullwing side door, clam shell back doors, 4 flat tires. Been sitting in this garage for 10 years with the current owner and he says it was sitting for unknown years by previous owner. This owner thinks body work was done in the early 70's. It is rough but looks very salvagable. I let you make up your own mind as to what type of place this was sitting in for the last 10 years, it look worse than a barn! It was very hard to get pictures of it inside the building. | | |
