I took apart my instrument cluster to reset the mileage for my new engine, but the numbers are locked. What is the trick to getting the numbers to roll?

I forgot, I am wanting to replace my exhaust sytem as well and I m not sure what 265-400 CI-SB means?
Will this exhaust fit for a 77 Chevy G20?

Can't help with the first question.
But CI = cubic inch
And SB = small block

Example: Chevy 5.7 liter engine = 350 CI SB

You are not suppose to reset your mileage on a factory speedometer, that is usually against the law. There are ways to do it but we would have to kill you afterwards.

You can buy an aftermarket one from like Autometer that will start out with all zeros.

The exhaust kit you selected will not work on vans without modifications, it is meant for the cars listed, the Chevy vans have a very tight engine bay and you need headers specifically for them. You may be able to buy them through Jegs, we got ours from Summit but that was quite a few years ago. Most exhaust systems for the earlier vans have to be put together from various pieces, there probably are no longer any "kits".

The 265-400 CI is just the range of small block chevy motors that those headers will fit in the cars listed.

To reset the mileage jack up the rear end and put it in reverse untill it rewinds to zero.

sorry-i couldn't resist-that doesn't even work in the movies.

All of the recent exhaust systems I have had done I bit the bullet and found a local exhaust shop to custom bend one.
the down side a good system is not cheap.3 to 4 hundred dollars.
On the plus side they looked great and lasted a very long time. The one on my Early is close to 6 years old......

I checked out summint racing and found this kit:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-CBJJ104/Application/?query=Make|CHEVROLET|Model|G20

My van really needs a new setup, right nowthe pipes are corroded and exhaust leaks into the van.
Probally will bite the bullet as well and go to a shop for install. What would be an average price for that type of work?
(of course everywhere is differnt, but a ball park figure)
