As long as vanners know what they have to deal with we can deal with anything.

I would rather go to an event that has little as far as comforts than go to one that promises comforts and have none.

Figure out a clear weekend find a spot and let every body know whats happening and go from there.....

Oh yea count me in........Wookee

Vans, Panels, and Animals did a run called "Back to Basics" in 1997. It was a great time, just vans, no campers. It was at a motorcycle club's grounds, and they did have a band and a t-shirt vendor, but other than that it was primitive.......and one of the most fun truck-ins I've been to. I don't know what the attendance numbers were, but it was low, and that made it better. Must've been too low, b/c they only did it one year.

Doc in RI has a party twice a year in his field behind his house. This is about as back to basics as you can get, No Vendors, No Games, No Bands. There is one helluva pot luck dinner every time. He roasts lots of beef and turkey.

A Huge fire in the middle next to a sleezy bar makes for great entertainment.

I have gone to this party two times a year for 25 years. I have been to the party more than Doc, he had to go to CA for work one year. I never miss it, even if I have to work Sat. and drive down at Midnight. Its also 15 mins from Foxwoods Casino, and there is always a vanner group that goes there.

I have some of my best vanning memories from this party. There is always about 60 or more vans there. In the past there was twice that.
You want back to basics its there. 5 mins from I95 right near the CT/RI border.

I urge you guys to attend. Its usually held Columbus Day Weekend. Ill post his # since he published it in the NEVC Book. 1 401 539 2118

Docs Is always a good time and almost always runs the sametime as another event.
The Back to basic events are just as fun if not more then any other event. What do you need Look at your next weekend of vannin. Beverage Ice Food Grill Music Played from your Aux Van Batt or portable Light Portable or Gas Lantren Portapot Bag Shower Generator For the Band.

You all Would be saprised how little electric you use when you go to a van run I hardly ever use any. I go camping all the time and hardly ever plug in July and Aug most want thier air but do you really need it.

TAKE A HARD LOOK NEXT TIME YOUR VANNING AND SAY DO I REALLY NEED THIS.

I sold my trailer because I really did not need it I spend more time walking around BSing the band and the fires that you just don't need it.

Just a thought.

Chris

I will post the dates shortly, its somewhere in my van....

We have had lots of party's in the yard--Brickyard Race one every year, the invite for ya'll to stop over on the way to KC Natz, the wedding had 30 plus and room for tons more! We did get a porta pot for the wedding, but usually the house handles the needs of our 'campers' just fine. Because we have a large building with utilities (the house) we don't worry about too much. If the weather ever turns on us, the tornado room will be one hopping place to be!

As Vanners, we do have gumption! But we are careful to be sure our stuff is secured and we have a safe place to be if necessary.
Been to all kinds of eVANts in my time--I always have fun and all I want is to be with my Vanning family!
