Finally took everybody's advice and poured a bottle of Seafoam in the fuel-tank... The difference in drivability can only be described as NIGHT and DAY.. Smoother idle, increased mileage and more power.
I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it to anyone with fuel injected vehicle, works nicely in carbureted vehicles also but am sure the results won't be as dramatic.

i did it on my 92 Econoline 150 with the 5.0 and 179,xxx miles and it made a difference, not a drastic difference but enough to be noticeable. i put 1/2 a bottle in the vaccuum line coming off of the brake booster, and the other half in the gas tank.

hmm, most intake manifolds have the vacuum tap for the power brakes coming off the #7 intake runner or similar depending on engine make, this means you thoroughly cleaned one cylinder but didn't touch the other seven, 1 8 4 3 6 5 * 2 (chevy)

To be honest i never heard of letting the engine ingest it, only added to crankcase or fuel tank.
I have dribbled water down the carb to loosen carbon buildup on the valves and piston crown, the warer turns to steam and dpoes a wonderful job of cleaning the combustion chamber.

I have been wondering about the equal distribution of Seafoam when introduced to the vacuum line.

I have certainly noticed great results when added to my gas. One time I introduced a half can of Sea Foam Deep Creep aerosol spray into my throttle body with the engine running, and was rewarded with the same noxious cloud and a pristine looking TB.

I would thing the Aerosol can sprayed into the TB or carb would more evenly distribute it through out the intake, and all the cylinders. Maybee one could take the regular can and use an old sprayer and aerosolize it into the running engine for maximum distribution. Maybe it would eat the plastic sprayer, I don't know.

I have never put any in the crankcase. I don't know if I'd want to thin out the oil any, even if only for 50 miles.
