Your local parts store can probably order you the right evaporator and condensor. You'll probably need to have the lines made special though.

So it is probably all rusted up inside. I wish people would have a little more insight on what they are doing before they do it. Thanks again Natetheskate

It came complete and even had nice round vents. I have to agree, though if you want a trouble free set up, use as much new stuff as possible. AC compressors don't like contaminants. | | | Re: A few pix of my '75 Dodge blank canvas Van | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 21,211 Likes: 25 Supreme Master | Supreme Master Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 21,211 Likes: 25 | Most condensers were aluminum, but early ones could be steel...I don't know. You may be able to flush the condenser out using.. A/C Flush

I just finished wrapping them with harness tape (fun stuff). I thought that was it just install and be on, but no!! The wire from the alt. at the bulk head connector is burned and the housing melted. Same for the inside bulk head connection to the Amp gauge. What have you guys done in this situation? Clean up and fix as much of the original connector and housing? Or just bypass with new terminals and housing? This should and will be my last fix on this harness!

Here's what you should read: http://www.madelectrical.com/electricaltech/amp-gauges.shtmlSince I'm not sure what your 1975 van instrument cluster looks like, I'm not sure if you can so easily replace the ammeter with a voltmeter, but the article will give you the idea of what to do to get you running again, and in better shape than the factory wiring allowed for. Clear skies!

Looks like that's what I am going to do. I don't think a volt gauge will fit, but I'm building an overhead and I will put an era appropriate volt gauge in.

All lights would intermittently dim, the van would not start at times, and would run rough occasionally. Even though I double wrenched the leads on the gauge, I had it in and out a few times and am probably the source of the failure. Until I find a new cluster for it, I put both leads on the same contact. | | |
