The choice of not following the body lines makes it fly! BTW, that was me that came up with the insulating paint that Tress is using. Here's the link: http://www.hytechsales.com/insulating_paint_additives.htmlhttp://www.hytechsales.com/insulating_paints.htmlIt's one of the products which was developed through NASA research grants. The trick is that the microspheres encapsulate a vacuum, which doesn't transmit heat. Think of it as zillions of small thermos bottles in overlapping layers. To use it, you simply add it into paint like a pearl powder. They also sell a premixed version. That's what's going on the roof of my van, but I'm going to get the sides painted black first. Just got the final metal panel yesterday! Now for the serious cutting... They also make an elastomeric coating for over top of it. With my neighbor's black walnut trees, (whose leaves stain everything a dark brown...) it's pretty much a necessity in my case. Clear skies!

I am leaning towards Jeep Inca Gold for the body color with Gold metalflake graphics. I am also considering 17" Cragar Eliminator rims. What do you guys think?

I personally like newer wheel styles but it's your van. | | | Re: Black or Gold for my 77 Chevy? | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 3,586 Likes: 1 pooh-bah | pooh-bah Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 3,586 Likes: 1 | metal flake gold , there is another member who has one here i think he calls it Mother's nightmare . You don't see many gold flake vans out there but you see lot of black ones . And just for fun you should paint the stock stealies the same color and run them till you get your wheels . | | |
