| | | Re: My 1974 GMC Vandura | Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 44 newbie | OP newbie Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 44 | So I Finally got around to posting pictures of my van. For all of you who dont know this van it belonged to Jeff and Cindy Hyde who are my Step Father and Mother. Jeff was the owner of this van before me of course so everyhting you see on the van was he doing.(excpet the deconstruction of the interior and exterior that was my doing and help from a road gator) I recieved the van on graduation in 2004. Now make a long story short this van never liked me. Problem after problem arised when i became the owner and the last one finally did it in. in the summer of 09 i was helping a buddy move while traveling down the highway i blew a rod in the motor. The van is sitting in a garage as you can see with no motor ( I was also in the process of redoing the interior more pics of that later) so bascially the van is a shell... 1974 GMC Vandura Vannin since before I could remember

Its got some goodies already and the exterior doesn't look too bad, so good luck with building it your way.

From the pictures the body does not look too bad for a 74. GM put some pretty decent paint on there vans back then. Soda blasting is really not nessary if the base pain is holding up well. As stated before get her out of that tall grass if you can.
Good luck with your project.Great to see anther 2nd gen vanner working on a van........

That's the factory GM oil cooler adapter. It mounts where the filter goes,& then the filter mounts under it. The cooler hard lines come out of the front of this adapter to the grill mounted cooler. | | | Re: My 1974 GMC Vandura | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 28,125 Madman! | Madman!
