So I Finally got around to posting pictures of my van. For all of you who dont know this van it belonged to Jeff and Cindy Hyde who are my Step Father and Mother. Jeff was the owner of this van before me of course so everyhting you see on the van was he doing.(excpet the deconstruction of the interior and exterior that was my doing and help from a road gator) I recieved the van on graduation in 2004. Now make a long story short this van never liked me. Problem after problem arised when i became the owner and the last one finally did it in. in the summer of 09 i was helping a buddy move while traveling down the highway i blew a rod in the motor. frown The van is sitting in a garage as you can see with no motor ( I was also in the process of redoing the interior more pics of that later) so bascially the van is a shell...

Welcome to vanning.com but Ya better get her outta the grass, with No Airflow underneath to dry out the moisture, it'll rust the floor right out of it. Its got some goodies already and the exterior doesn't look too bad, so good luck with building it your way.

Personally I would get her running and driving first.
From the pictures the body does not look too bad for a 74.
GM put some pretty decent paint on there vans back then. Soda blasting is really not nessary if the base pain is holding up well.
As stated before get her out of that tall grass if you can.

Good luck with your project.Great to see anther 2nd gen vanner working on a van........

Dont worry bout the grass ;) The Beast is parked on gravel road as of last week when i was gutting the interior pics will be up soon smile

Yea whoever Jeff had paint the van did a great job! but like i've told other people before the pics you see are Jeff's Van and what he did to it Thats why the interior got ripped out and exterior getting a new color I dont want people to refer to it as Jeff's Old Van anymore cuz its mine smile

Thanks for the post everybody! I appreciate all feedback ;)

Its pretty cool in its current state, great condition for a 74 in Wisconsin. Have fun with it, motor swaps are a good time!

Looking good! Not sure what engine & trans were in your van originally, but make sure you use a 400 balancer & flex-plate/flywheel. Brad

Ken! That's the factory GM oil cooler adapter. It mounts where the filter goes,& then the filter mounts under it. The cooler hard lines come out of the front of this adapter to the grill mounted cooler.
