Saw a '80 OD tranny (Ford) ... are these shorter, longer, or same length as stock C6..? Also is this an electronic transmission or all mechanical? No additional hookups necessary?

This is a mechanical transmission, but you will want to get one from the late 80s since there were internal modifications to strengthen the transmission.
Also, depending on if you have a 302 or 351, you may need to get a new flywheel.
