Just bought a 1978 G20 short wheel base sport van (no side windows). Tax for this vehicle in Michigan is based on it's weight. Does anyone know what the curb weight is for this van?
Has 350 V8/automatic trans.

Recently purchased (10-2021) a 1991 Chevy G-20 “Shorty”. Past vans are a 1976 Chevy G-10 (purchased new in 1976 & sold in 1995). A 1978 Chevy G-20 Shorty purchased in 2010 and sold in 2015.

Hi Soundhd!

I don't know what a G20 would weigh... really would have to depend on how it's appointed. If you take it to a truck stop and get it weighed (about $15) you'll know exactly what it weighs. With that printout I was able to go to the Secretary of State's office and get my old 79 Dodge B100 registered down a class as a pickup truck... the cops totally hated that, but it was perfectly legal. It's been a while, but I think it was about 4000 pounds empty.

Clear skies!

The title for the vehicle should show its gross curb weight...

If you have a title

Title shows the "gross vehicle weight"...not the "curb weight"...Gross Vehicle weight for a G20 110" wheelbase is 6400 lbs. So I told the lady at the Michigan DOT office it weighed 2600 lbs and she said ok.....saved some cash......
