I don't know how many of you remember Roadrunner. He had the Astro called the Acme Delivery & use to show all the time.
Well his health dictated the last few years that he had to give up vannin or motorcyling. He gave up on vannin. He did try again last year but camping out for a weekend was just too hard on him.
He still takes bike trips as not partying as hard & staying in hotel rooms is better on him.
Anyway the purpose of this is to let you know if you don't have an event on Sept 19th & you want to head Dayton way for a day, there's gonna be a benefit for him:

Hey everyone:

Please pass this forward to everyone that knows us and Jerry Creeger.

Mat & Kia (the owners of Sports & Sprits bar in Kettering) and I are having a Poker Run for Jerry Creeger on Sept 19th at Sports. Jerry doesn’t know about it yet but I will tell him as soon as it is too late to back out of it. As well as I know Jerry, he will not like us doing this for him, as he will feel it is sympathy or feeling sorry for him, but we have to make him understand it is because we all LOVE him and want to him in his hour of need. As most or all of you know Jerry has been fighting the big C (Cancer) for many years and was in remission until Oct 2006. But his prostate cancer has now spread to his lymph nodes and his PSA numbers are way too high. He had insurance from Gloria’s job, but as of July 1st she lost her job and her insurance. He should start chemo soon. Dr. said it will not help cure the cancer, but will at least prolong his life. One of his wishes was to take a bike trip to Utah in June, but the doctor told him NO WAY IN HELL... We would like to help him with his medical bills and maybe send him to Utah on a fly and ride through Harley. We should not wait until it is too late to honor our great friend, so let us do it now. We hope Jerry has many more years with us. So let’s take a RIDE WITH THE “ROADRUNNER”. I will send all of you a flyer in the next few days. I know all of you do not have a Bike, but let’s get the VANS out and ride also. This is a poker run for Bikes, Vans and Cars. The cost is $10 a bike, car or van (1 person) and $5 for each additional person. Door prizes will help. Also need people to work at the bar, selling shirts, registration and etc. Let us celebrate with our friend now while we still have him with us. This is such a hard letter for me to write to all of you, but please pass it on to anyone you don’t see on this list. I hope to see all of you on the 19th of Sept. Flyer and directions to follow soon.

Attached is a letter from Gloria, also pasted at the bottom of this letter.

Woodstock

Jerry (Roadrunner) Creeger

I want to tell you about my husband and my best friend Jerry Creeger. Jerry has been fighting prostrate cancer for the past 7 years and it has now spread to his lymph nodes and possibly other parts of his body. He was in remission until October of 2006, but now every time we go to the doctor we hold our breath and pray for some good news but that has not been the case. His doctor informed him that it is now time for chemotherapy, but that is not going to happen anytime soon as I have lost my job and our insurance as of July 1st of this year. Just as an example the shot Jerry has to take every 6 months cost $4400 without insurance.

Jerry is a great lover of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and you might call him a purest when it comes to them. He has been working on a 1978 shovelhead for a year or so to make it back to its perfect original state. He will not be satisfied until it is. His greatest wish is to ride to Utah (one of the few places he has not had the chance to ride to before) to see all of its beautiful sites, but he doesn’t think his body will now take such a ride. He has traveled many places on his 2005 Standard Electra Glide, but never made it to Utah.

Jerry has taken me too many beautiful places either on his motorcycle or in his many different vans that he has owned in the past. He has been a member of South Towne Van Club (ACME EXPRESS) and the Southern Ohio Van Council for many years. He is also very proud to be a member of Vintage Iron Motorcycle Club.

Jerry is a man that loves his family his many friends and or course, his dog named Harlie. He is a man that loves life and will never just lie down and give up. We will continue to fight this terrible disease as long as we can with the help of God and his family and his friends who also pray for him in his battle.

Gloria

I hate too see this, but you better believe we will be there!!!
Thanks for posting this DeeJaye, hadn't checked my email this morning yet, so I hadn't seen the email from Woodstock.
Just checked and it is there.
Let us know if we can help with anything. We'll talk more about this at Slam.
Jerry has been in our thoughts and prayers and will continue to be.

Our prayers go out to him and his family.

Is there an address where people who are unable to attend the benefit can make a contribution?

Many wishes to Roadrunner and Gloria too for a healthier Jerry tomorrow!

I'm afraid we will not be able to attend as of right now. But yes, an address would be good!

Cherish your friends!
HUGGS to all!
