No idea how much $$ though... or how much work to pry em loose! Would certainly save you a few pennies to put into other goodies for your ride though. Good luck!

He doesn't have it anymore, but I've seen and boy what an interior he was able to put in. The van was called "Ridin' In Style".
He said that when he took the van into the shop for the work to be done, by the time he parked the van, went into the office to work out the paperwork, they had already cut the factory roof off and where setting the high-top in place.

I am thinking about doing this too.. I missed out on a junkyard ZIMMER convcersion hightop.. that thing was BEAUTIFUL!!.. had no way to get it at the time though.. keep us posted!!!
Yeah..... I know I know.... It's NOT a van... But if you squint, It could be a REALLY long van? | | | Re: High top conversion vans | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 6,266 Vanner Extraordinaire | Vanner Extraordinaire Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 6,266 | Having run a van shop for 23 years, I can tell you that the install is as easy as anything.
Lay a 2x4 flat in the raingutters along the side of the van. mark with a marker. Mark across just behind the first roof rib. (drill from inside for a guide) mark across just in front of the last roof rib. Cut. You now have a base to build cabinets front and rear, without totally compromising the strength of the van. You can use the removed ribs to create a shorter shelf area if so desired. When installing the top, don't be shy with the sealer!
the job can be done in a few hours, with only a sabre saw, and drill!
