I wanted to keep it a surprise and arrive at Lost with a new van. I can still imagine you guys carrying me on your shoulder in my brief 15 min. of glory...

Alas, I have decided to fess up and post pictures to show everybody my new acquisition. It isn't fair to request photos from everyone and never post mine.

So here it is:

Yes, that's Shoreh with the contract in her hands on the left.

It's a 1979 Ford E-150. It has a few rust bubbles on the surface but is manageable for a few years. It has a 1/2 gullwing door.

The interior is fully custom with a bed, cabinets, ceramic floor and pivoting chairs.

I saw it 3 years ago at VanWest and didn't think much of it at that time. Then 6 months later, I wanted to buy it but could never find the contact information. I finally learned that it was sold a few years ago and lost hope. 2-3 weeks ago a friend told me it was still for sale and the guy didn't manage to get the money. So it's in my drive-way now!

A big thanks to Doc, Guy (Dreamweaver) and Virtual for their help and suggestions when inspecting it.

What plans do I have for it? I want to drive and use it this summer so I don't have many plans.

Unfortunately, with all those accessories on the top, it was leaking pretty bad. I also want to put it in the garage for the winter to be able to work on it so the Spoiler, roof rack, flutes and antennas have to go. To make sure it doesn't leak, I want to have it sprayed with Line-X.

So last weekend, I removed the whole interior (to reach the bolts) and all the roof-top accessories. I will be welding up the holes.

Of course, everytime you start a project, stuff gets added. In this case, the drip rails were filled to block rust holes on the roof so that added a bit of welding to my job.

As for the interior, the roof does have some surface rust and I should be able to cover it with POR-15. (That's why I had that weird post because of course the Astro had NO, 0, NADA rust)

I hope to get it all ready by Lost. Wish me luck!

Now I see why you were asking. Nice find. Can't wait to see it at Lost!

Dude, that van is sweet! Nice score. Since you have the interior out and you need to weld the roof, maybe you should just COP IT! lol

It's also nice to see Shoreh!
