I hope the modding you did to the intake didn't have some bearing on your problems.
Double-check the condition of your cap & rotor AND plug wire routing.

You most likely will have to recalibrate the injectors. I have no idea how to do it (Maybe by installing a chip). You have increased the air flow and the air volume. You need to increase the fuel as well. Your popping sound is most likely because the engine is now running too lean.

I never reset the engine computer, I probably need to do that, eh? The intake was barely ported, besides cutting out the center divider and runners, which Dodge did in '98 so my standard injectors / computer should be good.
I know there's plenty of fuel pressure at the rail, later today I think I'll take off the fuel rails and run it in a little container and make sure they're firing in the right order.
Friend has a shop, if I can't get it started I'm just gonna have it towed there and pay him to figure it out, I'm growing tired and giving up on this thing.

Any idea how the compression was prior to this job?

Fully charged the battery and ran compression tests. 65, 120, 120, 32.
Pulled the valve cover off. Cylinder 1 Exhaust and Cylinder 7 Intake/Exhaust rocker bolts came loose == no rocking == no valve actuation.
This is why I saw exhaust in the breather (Cylinder 1 couldn't vent out exhaust, had no choice but to go through intake).
So glad these are noninterference engines, lol!
Tightened the bolts down, I'm getting PSI readings of 105, 120, 120, 128. Piston 1 probably has fried rings, so I'm not too concerned. It's still within tolerable limits. Manual says minimum of 100 when warm.
Sounds like I've got the problem figured out! Just gotta do the other bank and see if she starts now. It's currently doing 120, 120, 120, 80.

Let it run for a bit, little bits of blue smoke. Once the temperature got past 190 it smoked more... shut it off, turned back on, doesn't run as smooth. Might have to tighten the rocker bolts more or put some threadlocker on them. Don't know the deal with the blue smoke. Maybe gaskets need to melt to their mating surface, maybe oil leaked somewhere, idk yet. Gonna give it a rest for tonight. It's either from the valve seals or the rings. | | | Re: Removing heads 2: Electric Boogaloo | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 21,211 Likes: 25 Supreme Master | Supreme Master Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 21,211 Likes: 25 | Make sure the spark plugs are not oil fouled..that will make it run like sh*t. Take it out and run the piss out of it if you can to blow all that crap out of the cylinders.
