Hey I was made aware of this site awhile back, but I have been on the road like crazy doing my really rough job of shooting custom cars, and bikes for the magazines you love to read. We are still working on our current project a 1964 corvair van(dont call it a greenbriar you will make the corvair junkies mad lol) Still have to finish up the interior and get some wheels on it, but we drive it everywhere. When we bought it in SC I test drove it 7 miles then home 400 has been pretty reliable since then. O.K I am done rambling hope you all have a great holiday.

I have added a new steering wheel(flaked) new carpet, and powdercoated the tops of the door panels and engine cover to match the flaked roof since these pics

I've worked for several mags in the past and have been freelanceing since '92. Automotive photography has been a job or hobby since I got my first camera back in the early '70s.

nice satin job on the paint and the harlaquin flake on the roof...great idea........truck looks real clean , love the sign look but custom logo....the flaked upholstery...yea...diggin on this one.....great ride

Yea the guys at Razor Graphics in Fredericksburg V.A deserve all the credit for the paint. Its all ppg Kia blue the roof has the largest flake you can spray out of a gun, and the logo and pinstripes are all done by hand(designed by Squindo www.Squindo.net) I couldnt have been happier with the outcome it won best truck at its debut show.

Nice Corvan!

i love doing the flat clear with a nice bottom metalic color.....you get the greatest looking colors that almost looked like anodized aluminim.

im a big fan of flake....i broke my flake cherry on a 62 ford econoline window van 1970..(thank GOD it was a window).....what a wake up call........all with the big bass boat 1/64th flake and 100 coats of lacquer clear....hahahaha......so yea noticed the flake right off plus its the color shifting flake....that effect is just sick under street lights.

That flake reminds me of CONFETTI--and we all know how much I love CONFETTI!!!!

Yea it has three 5oz cans of flake on the roof and has smaller flake on the bumpers.Its the little daddy roth rainbow flake, and it has more clear on the roof than most new cars lol

Great looking van and welcome to the forums. The Texas Van Federation winter summit is down around Houston the last weekend in January. Hope you can make it. There's a great van club in your area, Mild to Wild Vanz.

Nice Corvan! I have a neighbor with a show quality pick up version and a window van in his garage that I am trying to get interested in vanning....... BTW tossing garlic in yer cooler full of buds and having a hot pink lawn chair won't chase away ghosts

No worries buddy, they are typing about me. The Ghost is me and my 68 Chevy and the pink lawn chair is between me and the vanner ladies LOL. It's all in fun and thats what vannin is all about. Nice Corvan! I had an 8 door Greenbriar at one time...There are a few in vanning, but they are rare! welcome aboard. Greybeard is relatively harmless, and a good contact for you in Texas! Hope to see your van at a run in 09!

It already has a car motor in it, and they do offer a few small upgrades. The turbo motor doesnt fit under the engine cover.

Yea I dont do to good with it at the corvair shows because its Not Stock, but it draws the biggest crowd lol

John, how in the world did you find a shop to do the work in va. when you live in houston and bought it in sc ?

Well I was living in Jacksonville Florida when I bought it from a rod builder friend of mine in Greenville S.C. Drove it home to Florida then drove it to Myrtlebeach to cover bike week for HotBike where my painter/best friend picked it up and took it to Virginia(fredericksburg) to paint it.They then drove it to winston salem N.C to a rod show to debut it where it actually won best truck before the interior was done. I thne drove it from N.C back to Florida, and two weeks later drove it to Greenville S.C to go to a truck show that I co-promote and drop it off at a good friends upholstery shop. I then got married two weeks later and the day after my wedding my friends dropped me off in Greenville S.C to drive it home to Florida. Three days later we loaded everything we had in the van and the wifes scion and moved to houston..........That is my short travel story of the van since my wife bought it for my birthday in April

It's nice to have you over here. I have seen your van on the KB forums (not to mention that other trophy of yours, she is beautiful). Glad to have you on vanning. You have worked wonders on that corvan. It looks great. There are some good clubs in Texas and lots of great vanners there too.

Great Corvair! Love those vans. Will you still make the shows in the Carolinas now that you're in Texas? Koss Motorsports, who does most of the show circuit in the Carolinas, recently decided to bring back classes for vans in their shows. Having a few show up would be a great benefit.

It's open to all vanners. I just don't think they have firmed up the exact location yet and put together a flyer. I'm sure we will get a flyer posted on the evants thread after the holidays. Last I heard it is on the last weekend of January probably outside of Montgomery.
