On another note,...i wont have any early van pics as i lost all my porfolios in a shop fire.....everything pre 80 is mostly gone sad to say......but im reviving some of the old paint in lacquer on 4x8 panels for a gallery of old van style paint.......sort of a museum of techniques and paint themes that we where doing on a daily bases back then.
my front page has some differnt style airbrush / stencil work......ill have more to come.
virtual thanks for the invite.......

How are you doing??
wierd harold......thats sounds like a trip up my ally id love to do anything old school and even the stuff today rocks.
im putting a flash site together, thats why im not up and running with it so my site functions more up-to-date...plus i bought a nice camera for some video...but pics are coming
Ive spent much of my time lately in the bike arena....i have a few bikes im building now and once finished im heading back into the van world.........my 79 is out back rusting in the weeds..i have 2 of em back there retired but my 73 is in the garage...i have a special attraction to those flat noses.
Im going to make a special effort to hit the nats next year.....that would be amazing to get back to that scene.
If any of you guyz are restoring and wanting the old 70 flavour in paint....as much as im retired that would pull me back out....again i can even do lacquers....to me even with all this new paint out there.....the lacquers in my mind still give you the best bang for the buck plus the paint tricks cant be beat.....I just had a friend email me with a car i did 25 years ago in lacquer and it still looks brand new......todays paint is so thick it can delaminate with all the layers it takes to rely pull off a great mural/graphic combo......not all jobs delaminate but the odds are stacked it will with the thick resins they use now. Plus that stuff is deadly with the hardners
gettin excited to see the van world still with a pulse | | | Re: Van painter from the 70's in RI | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 2,298 veteran | veteran Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 2,298 | Hey Doug old school is what it's all about with me. sounds like we need to get your baby back on the road let me know if i can help.
