| |  Vanner Passing #227145 September 08th 2008 7:40 pm | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,359 old hand | OP  old hand Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 1,359 | It is with a very heavy heart that I inform my Vanning Family of the passing away of Wendall Clayton of M.O.V.E. He passed away yesterday, Sunday Sept. 7 of lung cancer. Visitation to the funeral home is on Wednesday 2 - 9 and the funeral is on Thursday. Hopcroft Funeral Home, 23919 John R., Hazel Park Mich. 48030. We were told of Wendalls illness while attending Vanfest. A golf benefit/dinner was planned for this Saturday, Sept. 13 for the proceeds to cover Wendalls medical costs. I was told this is still 'a go' and will probably turn into a good memorial for him. If anyone would like info on this, let me know. Wendall was one of the most nicest, thoughtful and caring person I have ever met, always with a smile, cowboy hat and a positive attitude. He helped Rick and I move into our home 3 years ago and the last time we had seen him was at Action Vans birthday party last March. I had to show Wendall the wooden purse I won off of EBAY with vans glued all around it. It was made for a 'Kim' in 1975 by Wendall. He signed his name a few times for me and said Yep! That's my handwriting but I don't remember Kim. Goodbye my good buddy, I will hug you again I know. I love you and will miss you extremely!
