I'm pretty sure you got an award for your Chev...contact Geoff if you still have a flyer...Kevin is winging his way to a much deserved vacation.I got home about 11 tonight...quite the adventure...last night at Geoff's, a power surge fried my GPS unit while we were updating some maps online. Today after no hassle at the border, I noticed my Battery gauge seemed a bit low, so I turned off the air and everything but the stereo, and hoped for the best. Proceeded to drive about 200 miles with no problem, just paranoia. Then when it got dark, I ran with just parking lights the rest of the way( about 100 miles) Luckily, there was enough traffic, I just tucked in behind a truck and followed along. Ah, well...home safe, and off for an alternnator later in the week!

I have over 2000 pics from van fest...I'll try to sort out mine and Geoff's from Tim's and Ken's and Doug's and get them photobucketed!

Sounds like a good time..I read on page 38(by Jewels) that Natilus & Alpine were on trailers..is it easier getting in & out of Canada this way?(in case I ever get to go) I will need to get a trailer to haul it on and something to pull it with(2 items to buy so I better start saving now), Now I don't know if I should drive my Chop Top to the Nats,hard to compete against trailered vans,I wanted to drive mine but it will take a beating being driven that many hours & miles and pulling a camper. Is there a class for Driven vans & one for trailered vans?? If I go I may show up in the wife's Astro.

Personaly speaking, I would try and drive it. I know mine and yours are on far different sides of the judging fields, for quality, but I know I will always try to stay close to what is street legal. And I emphasize, CLOSE TO STREET LEGAL. But you will do what is right for you and your van, and don't let anyone tell ya different.

That is my predicament as well Howard. I don't want Snotty getting fired for spending his whole week looking at 2000 or more pictures of a van run that he will be at for sure next year, lol. We really need the Moon Lite bar there so the vanners can win the hardest partying award away from those young mini truckers. This is their favorite event as well for the whole summer so they come to party very hard and we enjoy every bit of that and join in.

I just checked my pictures, I took 1075 of them at Vanfest as well as some video. These are without a doubt the best pictures I have ever taken at a van event. I guess practice makes perfect but I was on a mission. Kevin has never had this event covered in a national magazine and I had some very good friends haul their vans up here across the border with crazy gas/diesel prices and I sure as hell will do what I can to get them in a magazine. Now I have to edit them down quite a bit to send them off to Truckin', if they don't like them on to Street Trucks and further if needed.

The trailer topic should be discussed in another thread. Please do not mention it any further in this thread.
