This kills me to see this after I sold the Den to Jeff in North carolina who said he was going to restore her. I sold it to him cheap because of the conversations we had and he had people who would fix the den back up, so I left all the interior, lights etc.., he sold it to some Di**head on Ebay whoI emailed and asked his intentions and his reply I qoute "I will yank the drive train and wheels and a couple other things and junk the body. " His ebay ID is 'eklektixliquidators'. This is uncomprehensable some one would do this to that van, my van, that I built and had for years, and is a part of Vannin history. he bought it for $2800. and is now going to destory it just for the motor. It makes me sick. I never would have sold if I had known better.
I am so pissed of right now I cant continue, but that one more legend gone from vanning.

That is not right. Didn't he have a reserve price, how did this guy get it and for so cheap? It hurts me to hear this. I have been interested in this van since I was a child. I actually just showed it to my wife a few weeks ago and explained to her the background and significance of it. How can someone be so cruel. I thought Jeff was going to try to get it sold to a vanner.

I am really sorry to here this. I hope that something can be done to change this.

I'm really sorry to hear of this as well. I only hope that whoever ends up with the den takes a good long look at it, and realizes how unique it is, and that it's not just your run of the mill off the assembly line custom van. I mean, buying a vehicle for 2800 for the motor and a few odds and ends is pretty retarded. I just can't grasp it.

I emailed the guy and asked if he would consider selling the body and such if he was really just going to junk it. I will post an update when/if i get a reply.

That is beyond aggrivating. It's amazing how some people can look at a heavily customized vejicle and one see parts. I don't care what you're into, a killer vehicle is a killer vehicle.

when i built my early chevy it was not "finished"
when i sold it to a local guy..but it was a show winner a few times and on a well built road of
survival.. i gave the guy web sites..phone #'s
for parts..contact info for other early chevy owners,a NEVC book ..all kinds of stuff
havn't heard a single word from em...
last sighting from a friend said he had a PILE of ladders and racks on it... very sad to hear that
..just as your situation is sad to hear..
but a chance we take when we part with our creations ..
some people just can't comprehend the work and
imagination it takes to build something memorable
best of luck to ya and the Den
