OK vanners. I just found out I made the PINKS show in Milan MI June 30! This means I'll be working like a mad dog for the next eight weeks. I have a little test n tune to be doing first but it,s running great! 300 cars sold out on line in 15 minutes. I,m putting a parachute, window net and a couple of other things on it but I,m ready other than that. I'll keep everyone posted, stay tuned!!!

We should get a group of vanners together to go to Milan on race day....imagine if not only there was a van racing, but a parking lot full of custom vans too!

I am pretty sure that the pinks all out show is where they pick a bunch of vehicles that are all running close times all out. Can't run faster then what you were qualifing. Then they pair them up & run them down to the final 2. Winner takes home $$$$$$$. Just a big bracket shootout. Was on last year. A lady in a 60's Ford pickup won. Brad

Still, we should get a bunch of vanners together for this, maybe a lot full of custom vans might get a second or two of tv time....

They are still doing the lose your ride format.
they found out buy giving away CASH 10 grand to the the winner they get allot more quality/FAST cars/trucks show up.

So far they have been in Texas and Arizona.
The featured cars/truck have been 10-9 second rides.
I like the ALL OUT format allot better than the lose your ride format.
They run you thought the traps first to get your times.
Then they run the chosen cars Pinks style with Rick signaling in the center.
They think your sandbagging they eleminate you.

I saw a couple episodes when it first aired, but seemed to me they were racing junk...I don't watch much TV anyway, about 2 - 3 hrs a week....


And I can't repeat this enough, if vanners can drive 3-4 hrs to support a hall party, if you can get Saturday, June 30th off, by all means come to Milan!

Way to go Dave. This will be cool to see. Give em' hell. Wish I could be there in person but it is a few miles out of the way for me.

The run is on the 30th, right? What time? I may be able to get a few vans to take a ride...I think its about 5 hours from here...

Cool Cool,I was watching drags the other day and wished to see a van go down the track.Tryed that G-force in florida a yr ago and it was so cool with the G's Fast Fast.

If you wanna go, let me know. I can come down and pick you up if you like. Or come up this way and we can caravan. I inked the day off from work (almost talked my boss into coming, too). I'll be there with my boys Tommy and Ausy, some Montain Dew, and a pretty good tv if somebody has some older episodes of "Pinks" on tape or disc...

Dave, Yes got the engine back in the van. Our goal this year was to race it in an upcoming racing group called the nastolgic pro comp association. In addition to the new engine we changed the front grille to meet the pre 1973 membership requirement. We ran a test pass on and engine dyno a few months ago. Despite not being able to launch the van on the dyno and running out of gear at the 1/8 mile the van ran a 10.27. We are very confident with a gear change that the drive train will put us deep into the 9's. Unfortunatly as you know, the safety equipment becomes very costly running under 9.99. We have decided to detune van to run a 10.50 class and thus bypassing the increasing cost of additional safety equipment. The only safety updates are the cage, window net and tranny blanket. Its just getting too costly to go fast anymore. I am enthused by your opportunity to represent all of us at the pinks show. And as I am fully aware how much effort it takes to get one of our vans going as fast as they are going, know that I am one of your biggest fans. I will make an attempt to come up and be supportive. I will be in contact with 'Cobolt' and see what can be arranged.

I should make this a little more clear. There is something like 300 cars in this thing. Friday is just for testing. Saturday each car gets 2 passes. The closest 16 cars will determine the field. Whether or not that is low nine or low 10 second or whatever nobody knows till there done. So I won,t know if I actually made the show or not till saturday afternoon. Still, it should be a good time even if I have to watch it from the stands. Hang on! And stay tuned!

That is the Nitrous line being purged.

Thanks, I don't know much about race cars anymore but I still like to watch. That's great about Machinist, I love to watch PINKS.
