Also will this be a problem when re-installing / tightening the bolt? If yes, is there a way to keep crank from turning? Or is this not something that is of concern? In other words, if the crank / engine turns slightly in one direction or another, do you have to be concerned?

You don't want to tighten the bolt up with the impact gun however, for this you'll want to use a torque wrench.
Nothing will be messed up if the crank turns slightly. You will need to somehow hold the flywheel when you tighten the crank bolt. There is a tool for this but a large screwdriver or prybar will work. You may need a friend to help you for this...be careful not to break any of the starter ring teeth.

If you arent that daring, I dont blame you. Most of the impact guns out there are too long to fit, thus a radiator removal is necessary. You might be able to get by with a 24 inch extention and a swivel for retightening. I like to impact the bolt on, make good and sure its tight. This also eliminates the need to hold the flex plate or starter teeth. An electric impact gun can be rented. The bolt size is 1 1/4, btw. Luck!
