Karson's Current Project

A week before 09 Nats I was browsing craigslist in my local area when I came across this rare find. Only a few miles away sat this 79 GMC shorty in a used car lot. Within minutes I was out the door to see if it was a good find. shocked

I acted somewhat unimpressessed by the straight 6 which barely ran and played on that to talk the seller down to 400.00. yay

This shorty is a NO OPTION van. It has a 250 6 cly, Manual transmission, radio delete and only one visor. The best part is the van is rust free. It spent most of its life in Florida and escaped harsh winter salts.

All could think of is what a perfect project. yay

So now I'm gathering my shoppinglist, and hopefully start on it before winter.

Lucky the salt air down in Fla. didn't eat it up. Very nice find and with no options your slate is clean to do what you want.

Cheers!

What are your plans for it? Another race van or a driver?

First, like Matchstick, get rid of the windows.

well luckily you just need a solid slider but that ain't so lucky because those are hard to find these days. You might have to just make some metal for that hole. Really can't wait to see what you do with it though.
