my 69 chevy rebuild (on a budget)

ok, got the nose off of the donor, and i even remembered the camera. damn are these vans ugly without their skin.

kinda suck that you can only post three pics under one topic. it would be cool if you could post atleast one or two pics per reply. oh well. see some of you at the nats

got the front wheel arches removed from the donor van, almost got the driverside panel cut off( got to wait for a second set of hands). after i remove the front leafsprings,mounts, and straight axle, the donor is going to the scrap heap.did get some pics thou

well i got the straight axle straightened around, shims were placed wrong. have to get new U bolts for it thou.got to order the new bushings for the springs and king pins that should get it sitting back on all fours.

i got the front suspension changed out, also got the rear doors replaced with a panel from a donor van, here is a link if you want to check it out. Link To Pics!

today i got the rear panel welded in(to replace where the doors were) and started to get the nose ready to be removed, took off the bumper, headlight buckets, turn signals. now i have to wait till payday to get the windshield removed. and to buy the bushings to drop the front end. like i said "on a budget" so far ive spent 150.00 on donor van, 30.00 on new u bolts, 10.00 on welding wire, so it's going to go kinda slow. but my goal is to drive it to Butler this year.(better warn TRV)

spent the weekend with my kids working on the van. would have liked to be there but sometimes life has other plans
