Bodywork is coming along. Parts are harder to find than originally thought.

5-5-09: Starting to do a little interior and dash work...

I'm going with kind of a medium blue.. however I got on line yesterday and found a gal that makes stain glass. I saw a couple that I liked and even tho' they aren't for "outdoor use"... I'm going to see if I can't turn them into cool looking portholes for the van. Cheez... just got done welding them up and now I'm going to cut more holes in the side of the van! Ha!

I also pulled the dash yesterday because a couple gauges weren't working. Ford has a funky setup back there. Looks like a large circuit board only it's plastic. No wonder things are failing. I'm going to make my own dash and put some decent "Dolphin" gauges in it. Wood dash, custom gauges.. should look nice.

The more I do.. the more I uncover... ugh!

I think I just bit off the tip of my tongue lol

Van is looking really nice tho! Would be a shame to cut a hole in it.

An idea for you, since the stained glass is not meant for outdoor use, why not leave the panel solid and build a box for the glass with some LED lights in it and recess it in the wall where you want it. Then the lights will make it show off really well.

Believe it or not I was thinking about doing that as well.. but to recess I'd still have to cut. Was also thinking about just mounting on top of the "uncut" area and just mounting a frame around it and calling it good. I wouldn't have the light coming through it, but if I ever wanted to take them off I wouldn't have to patch up the side again.. OR who knows.. maybe I'll just display them in the back windows... I dunno yet.. we'll see.
