Work is progressing... '78 VEGGIN' WAGON.. formally known as Flashback...

Bodywork is coming along. Parts are harder to find than originally thought.

5-5-09: Starting to do a little interior and dash work...

I covet thy bumper and thy tire cover.
devil

Nay thee find thy rims hast taken flight.
In sinful rage and poison fury I dream of such at night.
Thou watchest thy rims in great detail.
For I shall find them...and away we shall sail.
My gallant steed shall they adorn.
Thou shall not know until the morn.
Then thou shall cry, scream and berate.
...my fat ass long gone...out of the gate. LOL

I LOVE those rims!

I was wondering what they were going to look like!
Looking good man.
If you want a regular dash, I have one.
I also have a set of clutch pedals for that thing and a 5 speed out of a pickup, available on Ebay for 350 would make that thing do a lot better on fuel and have major cool factor.

What did you use to clean those rims?
I did not know how those were going to come out, but they look incredible!
I am itchin to see more pics as it goes.
Thanks for posting these!

Wow... you really like wheels! Ha! I ended up cleaning them and then repainting them in an aluminum paint. Yes, I agree... turned out nice, thanx. I originally was going to toss them for some chrome wheels, but after cleaning and painting I like them too. Very "period correct". Harder than heck to find center caps for. Turns out each wheel maker made the inside diameter a little different so you'd have to buy caps from them. Oh well.. I've bought about 60 caps so far and I've come up with 2 good ones. Just need 2 more. Weird diameter.. something like 3.667"..

Decided to no longer call it "Flashback"... It will be "Veggin' Wagon"... more of a Hippy theme.. kick back.. that kind of stuff. I'll paint Hippy looking guy on both sides and one on the tire cover. The one on the tire cover will be seated.. legs folded.. and it will read: "Caution: Driver Meditating"... so there ya go.
