I am going to build out the interior next. I am going to refoam and reupholster the existing swivel captains chairs, change up the inside roof as it was merely fabric rolled over the metal. I will use thin plywood to give it a rigid surface to headline. I am going to add a 2nd battery to the driverside frame rail and hard wire in a 3,000 watt inverter, some 120v and 12v outlets and some USB charger points. I am also going to add a shore power connection.

I need to pickup new weatherstrips for all the doors and will also be swapping the rear and side cargo doors to the swing out glass I have. I also plan to limo tint the rear for privacy and heat reasons as well as make new drapes to replace the sun rotted ones on it now. I am pretty decent with the 70 year old gear driven Singer commercial sewing machine I have. It has all the cams to make any number of specialty decorative stitches. It was a $1500 machine in the early 50s.

Probably going to do a protective coating of some kind on the exterior and keep the patina for now. It might spray a matte clear on it. I actually like the patina look, looks like an old van, nothing special and I kind of dig the look. I also feel like it is much less likely to disappear over night even though I do have my was to disable it. The Proflow ECM unclips off the harness in about 2 seconds , is the size of a pack of smokes, and it will not go anywhere without it. I am going to address the roof though as it is down to mostly bare metal.

hi my name is rick new to this site i just bought a 74 shorty chevy g10 van non running been sitting for a while i took out gas tank to drain old gas and check for junk in gas tank tank was clean i wanted to replace sending unit i bought a new sending unit on ebay but it was to long for tank message seller and he said then you dont have a 21 gallon tank i have been trying to find out what size gas tank these vans came with 1974 chevy g10 van 350 /350 dose any body know ???? thanks

I would of done a 1971-1977 front grill and bumper conversion. Primo van for sure. ( would of gone a different way on interior )

Hey Shaggy, Amazon turned up aftermarket units for 85-95. Might try LMC, IDK why 78-79 would be so scarce, I also IDK if the earlier year taillights are different either.
